Northern-VA based artist BKV8 has been consistently releasing music recently, with five singles and an EP dropped in 2020, and two singles in 2021 (much more including SoundCloud releases). BKV8's latest drop is a 1:31 autotuned ballad called Last Night. A warbling synth and breakneck hi-hats complement vocals about getting money off of features and trying to keep people by your side, as he raps, "I said I loved you but I lied, I just wanted you to be by my side/I got niggas in the trap and niggas walkin' with that fire."
The end of the track really lights up, the beat slows down to this woozy R&B vibe, and BKV8's vocals are slowed down, Screw-style as the song comes to a close. This is far from lightning-in-a-bottle or a one-hit phenom, as BKV8 makes singles like this left and right, just check his EP Samsara, his singles Molly and Don't Go, just for a taste. The sky is the limit for BKV8 at this point.
