HoodieJIM Paints A Forlorn Picture With New Single, "Untitled 1"

HoodieJIM, a rap signee to HappyBoyzRecords, tugged at our heartstrings with his newest track, Untitled 1. The song features a woozy, distorted piano, tugging bassline and gentle drumbeat that slowly pulses as the song continues. HoodieJIM raps about weed smoke and wandering to the woman of his dreams at late hours of the night, not out of want but out of need. The longing emotion is what is so universal, and when it's coupled with the instrumental, we can almost feel like we're high, feet dragging to the window of a crush, just for a chance to talk, out of some feeling that the narrator knows "what's better for us both."

HoodieJIM has had himself a busy year. Not but three weeks ago he released a single, wwwdot, produced by none other than Flying Lotus, and three months ago, he released his debut EP, Brown is Blue. With a purely original energy and cold yet calculated style, HoodieJIM is definitely an artist to get familiar with before he turns heads everywhere.
