Junnie Mac & Namebrand Brings "Peace, Mercy, and Blessings" On Their Album

Artis

Artist Junnie Mac and producer Namebrand from Richmond, VA released an eighteen-track project focusing on enjoying the blessings Junnie received along with personal tales of praying for mercy. The listener can adore the smooth operator delivery of Junnie Mac over the various Namebrand instrumentals complemented by R&B samples and acoustics.

In the song, Elevator, Junnie prayed for forgiveness on how he affected his community by doing anything to survive. In that same song, Junnie gives grace to the position he's in so that he no longer has to sell drugs in his community, which is glorified within the Gritty City. The introspection he has transitioned to bigger things such as creating a legacy for his children to expand and embrace. In his song No Post, it has such a unique mesh of a chopped and screwed delivery mixed with angelic vocals as Junnie expounds on memories of the past that was never posted on social media. Junnie shows appreciation for the memories as much as when he was in those moments that had him off his phone or before social media was easily accessible.

There are moments in the album where he diverts from his stories to focus more on other tales. In Lost Girl, he discusses the story of this woman that's looking for validation within short moments of satisfaction like drinking and going out for the night rather than being still to work on herself in a world of sin. Another example is Monument Ave, where it focuses on political corruption and unjust killings of black people by law enforcement. Junnie calls out all the crooked politicians by saying they should drug test the officers and learn more about who they're hiring to detect the real cause of the issues.

There are a variety of features from cornerstones within the Rich City such as Radio B, Michael Millions, Illa Styles, Cole Hicks, Francoise Hamilton, and many more. The tracklist is below and it's available on all streaming platforms. You can stream the project on Spotify below and follow Junnie Mac on Instagram @junnie_mac and Twitter @junniejmac.
