Kadïï Shows Off Her Versatility in New Single, "Dip"

Kadïï is a Guinean-American alternative artist whose sound cannot be contained to one word. Her music takes elements of afrobeat, jazz, hip-hop, and R&B, and even these genres don't entirely define her work. Her latest single, Dip, is no different. With rolling hi-hats and a gentle piano, a cold atmosphere is built, well-accented by her snappy hook "The chip got too much dip, Ion ever worry 'bout shit..." The hook is quickly contrasted with Kadïï's singing, wondering why she can't be herself "without an archetype." The song tantalizes, and by the time it is over, you can just sense that this is not Kadïï's only sound, the amount of potential shown a dynamic song like this is impossible to ignore. Personally, I can hear her making music with the likes of Doja Cat & Tierra Whack, two similarly versatile artists with so much more music to show the world.
