KWAMZAY EP Proves Strong Enough To Move A "Mountain"

The dynamic duo KWAMZAY has released one project before this, another EP Motherland! that came in the summer of 2021. With their second outing, Mountain, they continue to prove that their pairing is not lightning in a bottle. They sound like lightning in a storm. Barking with heavy command and rolling with an eerie pattern. Mountain is a 5-song EP that chops soul samples with professional ease, raps like Picasso paints a canvas, and is organized to the point where you can't distinguish when a song ends or begins, it all goes through you like one long track.
The pair in question is composed of rapper and producer Kwame Adu and LA-based producer ZAYALLCAPS, who, armed with FL Studio and the Koala Sampler app, helps create an abstract-rap EP with the punchlines of an Earl Sweatshirt, and the production of an Ohbliv or Madlib.
Any number of high-profile collaborators could fit on this project's diverse soundscape, J Dilla, redveil, Zelooperz, MIKE, Freddie Gibbs, all could masterfully weave themselves into Mountain's avant-garde atmosphere.
Standout tracks include the wordless I'm Still Alive! and its drum solo that steals your attention by the song's end, and 2 No End with its never-ending bars, also the project's lone feature from Young Wabo.
