TRIG Wants Everyone To "Spread Love" With His Newest EP

Hailing from Southside Richmond, T.R.I.G is an emcee who made a name for himself through the RVA Rap Elite and the Southpaw Battle Coalition platforms. He was recently on a track with OG Illa for his song Dangerous. It has been two years since T.R.I.G released a full project Fuck Regular and his Spread Love project ensures that the two-year delay from releasing more music was worth the wait. Days prior to the release, he put out the video to his first official single The Wav as a preview of the EP.

It is an eight-track EP that lets you know the tone of the project from the jump with the opening track Be Love featuring Richmond poet, B Lovee. B Lovee wants people to spread the love "like it's the fourteenth of February." Then the following song Raw featuring Dyfferant will have the listener head-nodding over the piano keys and drum kicks as T.R.I.G tells a story of how he reflects on his past love life while smoking. Then on his SpreadLove Interlude, which he dedicated to a Richmond figure that passed away, Joshua "Freeze" Reed [Rest In Peace], T.R.I.G showed off his vocal range to give a joyous feeling of spreading love and having the initiative to give lessons while he's in the physical dimension over unique slow jazz and funk production curated by Skinnyy Hendrixx. Skinnyy also produced the entire EP.

Not only this project focuses on spreading love through his words, but T.R.I.G also spreads love by a variety of different Richmond-based artists to be featured. The features range from poet B Lovee mentioned earlier to the charismatic female emcee Dyfferant, the head of RVA Rap Elite Radio B, Michael Millions, K.O., and Fuggin Doe. This is a wonderful project to blast whether you're rolling one up or enjoying the company of your friends and loved ones. Some of my favorite tracks to check out are Farewell Love featuring Michael Millions, Raw that I mentioned earlier, and Runaway with Radio B and K.O, and Shoutro where he literally shouts out everyone from his kids to his mom and many of his influences and companions within the Richmond rap scene. Compared to his previous project, Fuck Regular, he sounds more comfortable and more aware of how he wants an EP to sound cohesive.
