YaLLA The Melodica Revives Disco Love With Single "You Make Me Hot"

LA-born artist YaLLA The Melodica has blessed us with her latest single, an upbeat love tune called You Make Me Hot. The song can send even the youngest listeners back to the eighties with its nostalgic dance-friendly production, and singing that complements the beat with flirtatious lyrics. I can hear DeBarge, After 7, Shalamar, and so many other influences in the song. Play it for that crush you have to give them the hint.

There’s nothing quite like Studio 54 and yet that’s the feeling LA-born artist YaLLa The Melodica is providing with her luscious vocals and tantalizing productions. You Make Me Hot is the newest single from the multidimensional disco-pop creative. It marks her first release following her 2016 debut EP, The Elements of YaLLa.

YaLLa first began performing her own music in church at eleven years old and went on to form the girl group Just3. YaLLa, along with her group first performed at The X Factor USA, which led to the group performing all over Los Angeles shortly after. In 2017, YaLLa performed as a solo artist and has since appeared at Heroes Lounge in Dallas, TX, Charm City Books in Baltimore, MD, and NoHo Space in North Hollywood, CA.

She is inspired by artists such as Donna Summer, The Pointer Sisters, Janet Jackson, Lalah Hathaway, Diana Ross, and Kool & The Gang, YaLLa’s desire is to “bring back the disco sound.” Holding fast to her core beliefs, YaLLa aims to “create a safe space for queer artists to express their love and creativity and to inspire everyone at all ages to live the life they desire.”
