Memoir. Shows Vulnerability In His New York Drill Song "Why Don't We?"



New York's own Memoir. drops off his most vulnerable single to date sharing his gut wrenching experience dealing with heartbreak. The song samples an R&B classic Why Don’t We Fall In Love by Amerie produced by frequent collaborator Kc Slick. Memoir’s Why Don’t We? shares his most intimate details about the traumatic situation over New York Drill production creating a messy and emotional story with him adding “This was the hardest song I had to record. To show up for yourself even when you're mentally depleted for something you love is a testament to my known resilience.” He mentions “The studio session started with a mental breakdown and ended with momentary solace. Nothing in life surprises me anymore.”


Memoir. previous release “Poised II. / Hold Grudges.” went on to receive credible visibility being placed on #OnTheRadar: Hip-Hop editorial playlist on Audiomack. The two-pack project surpassed 65,000+ streams on Spotify. The two-pack also saw Memoir. land on various music publications including highly respected sources such as Fashionably Early, Trending Raps, and Swidlife.
