Hip-Hop Christmas Albums To Play This Season

Looking to find some hip-hop holiday cheer? Check out these albums to spin while drinking your eggnog and watching the NBA Christmas Day games.

This list will only include Christmas albums you can find on Spotify, so some honorable mentions include West Coast Bad Boyz: High Fo Xmas, Christmas On Death Row, and holiday songs such as Eazy-E's Merry Motherf***in' Xmas, and Christmas In Harlem by Ye, Teyana Taylor, Pusha T, Cyhi The Prince, Big Sean, and more.

A Dipset Christmas

Dropping back in 2007, Jim Jones and the ByrdGang crew dropped a holiday banger that featured the remix to Jim's smash single We Fly High. It also featured vintage holiday music such as Dipset X-Mas Time and a festive remix to RUM DMC's Christmas In Hollis with Ballin' On Xmas.

Christmas Rap

The 1987 album Christmas Rap may be one of the first, if not, the first Christmas rap album. With the iconic Christmas In Hollis song by RUN DMC, the nine-track album features throwback songs such as Let The Jingle Bells Rock from Sweet Tea and Dana Dane Is Coming To Town by Dana Dane. If you're a fan of 80's hip-hop, this should be playing as you're unwrapping your presents this year.

A Tribute To Bad Santa Starring Mike Epps

This is the second Jim Jones entry on the list, but listeners have to appreciate the hilarious Mike Epps narrating the album. The 19-track project features Juelz Santana along with Dipset's Freekey Zeekey, and the Skull Gang Crew. The legendary Intro of the album and the video to Jingle Bellz featuring Starr was played on MTV Jams nonstop during the holidays for a solid six to seven years.

Christmas In The Dogghouse

Although it doesn't snow in Southern California unless you live in the mountains, this project provides a snowstorm of West Coast legends spitting cold Christmas lyrics. Rappers like Kurupt, Daz Dillinger, and Nate Dogg joined the D--O-DOUBLE G on Look Out as The Dogg Pound performed greatly on This Christmas.

Big Dawg Christmas

Richmond, Virginia rapper Young Flexico provides his vintage trap sound for the holidays. As the head of Flextopia, Young Flexico provides smooth holiday jingles such as Jingle Bell Glock and Feliz Navidad Aye to turn up to as you pull up with the best ugly Christmas sweater to a kickback. Check out our full coverage of the album here.

CeeLo's Magic Moment

This Christmas album feels like a musical representation of an annual Christmas parade by having a little bit of everything in it. With appearances from The Muppets on All I Need Is Love, to Christina Aguilera singing on Baby It's Cold Outside, the eccentric CeeLo Green provides a perfect blend of everything you can ask for in a Christmas album.

So Icy Christmas

So Icy Christmas by the East Atlanta Santa himself, Gucci Mane was a fantastic sophomore holiday album. With tracks like Nose Red, Da Beginning, and features from Hotboy Wes and DJ Chose, the Atlanta icon provides some holiday cheer for the A with this album. The Return of East Atlanta Santa

It's impossible to talk about So Icy Christmas without mentioning The Return of East Atlanta Santa. The St. Brick Intro is a legendary southern Christmas song! The album included gifts in the form of features from Drake on the smash single Both, Bryson Tiller, and Travis Scott.

Music Inspired By Illumination & Dr. Seuss' The Grinch (Tyler, The Creator)

Tyler, The Creator was a part of the 2018 rendition of the How The Grinch Stole Christmas film and provided some sounds for the film's soundtrack. This is an extension of the film's soundtrack where he performs songs with Ryan Beatty, Santigold, and Jerry Paper. Tyler's unique delivery and creative ways make this album a must-listen.
