PRODUCER OF THE WEEK: Tune GG

Our Producer Of The Week is 26 year old producer Tune GG from Richmond, VA. On top of being nominated multiple times under our IG post, Tune GG was also recommended by one of our previous candidates NayG! If you couldn't guess already, Tune GG's producer tag is "GG," and he's worked with various RVA artists (including himself)! His sound ranges from hip-hop to r&b, but the one constant in each song is that the bass line goes hard. You can't help but be drawn in.

Vy: How did you start producing in the first place?

Tune GG: I’ve been making music since I was thirteen years old, but I just started making my own beats 2 years ago. As a recording artist, I felt like I needed to find my own sound. In doing so, I fell in love with producing.

Vy: Who are some artists that you've worked with?

Tune GG: I’ve worked with artists such as UV Scutti, Hazel Grove, Jonny Martien, RJ $tackhouse & more!

Vy: How would you describe your sound and work process as a producer?

Tune GG: I have a very versatile sound ranging from experimental like Pharrell Williams to rage like Ronny J. I like to make beats in the same room as the artist to see the reactions & get the best feedback in order to make the greatest beats possible.

Vy: Lastly, can you give me one fun fact about you?

Tune GG: I'm really into photography and film. I shoot my own music videos and take most of my own pictures!

I love interviewing recording artists who are also producers because I feel like they really try to get to know all aspects of their music. Tune GG is a clear example of this. I enjoyed getting to know his story because I think a lot of artists can be inspired by it. There are so many dimensions and layers to music that you can explore!
